As a history major and someone who had travelled through the European cities that formed the settings of Robert Langdon’s misadventures, I was completely transformed. I had been to the Piazza Navona and knew from memory the Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi. I had walked the famous hallways of the Louvre to see the surprisingly small portrait of Mona Lisa and the cramped room in which she resided.
Now that I'm an educator, I want students to have the same experience - when seeing becomes believing - in their reading and english classes. For less than the cost of a paperback book, students can see the same sights as the book characters see them in their stories. Instant engagement!
