My Journey
I spent the first nine years of my professional life as a high school world history teacher. I loved it! But my favorite year as an educator was the year that I piloted a digital classroom experience for my school division. Every one of my students had access to an iPad while in my classroom - and it was even more revolutionary than I expected!
In the beginning, I didn't know what to expect. I just knew that students could only benefit from having readily available resources and tools to enhance their learning. There were definitely some topics that needed the "good ol' fashion" traditional format, but digital tools made it easier for students to push past basic understanding and truly apply their learning in more meaningful creation and research.
Now, as an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher, I have the pleasure of working with students of all ages and their teachers, to help everyone find a "best fit" approach to their learning. As a Google Certified Trainer, I enjoy looking for ways to maximize Google Workspace for Education in the classroom, not only to help student learning but also to improve teachers' workflows. Another passion of mine is 360 media. As a classroom teacher, I quickly discovered the transformative power of Google Street View and other 360 resources.
